The ASR 900 Series is a modular aggregation platform that delivers cost-effective converged mobile, residential, and business services. You get redundancy, a shallow depth, low power consumption, and high service scale in routers packed with useful features and optimized for small aggregation and remote point-of-presence (POP) applications.
Features and benefits
Broadband aggregation
Deliver a greatly enhanced broadband customer experience. This series supports broadband aggregation for voice, video, data, and mobility services. It supports thousands of subscribers, and QoS scales to a large number of queues per device.
Pre-aggregation for mobile applications
Deployed as a pre-aggregation platform for mobile backhaul, the series can aggregate cell sites and use MPLS as a transport for RAN backhaul traffic.
Timing services
Get the timing services required in today’s converged access networks. The series offers integrated support for a variety of interfaces and can act as the source for network clocking for GPS and other interfaces.
Suitable for harsh environments
Because of its shallow depth and qualification for extended temperature ranges, the series can be deployed in small and harsh environments.
Metro Ethernet Aggregation
Built to meet service provider requirements for Carrier Ethernet aggregation, the series is optimized for remote central office and smaller sites that need a full-featured, modular, small-footprint, fully redundant aggregation platform.
A901-6CZ-F-D Overview
A901-6CZ-F-D is Cisco ASR 901 Series Aggregation Services Router Chassis, with Ethernet-only interfaces, 10 GE, DC power, and USB. Cisco ASR 901 Series Aggregation Services Routers are hardened, high-speed, low-power-consumption routers optimized for any-generation cell-site Radio Access Network (RAN) backhaul and Ethernet access. By using Cisco ASR 901 routers, operators can reduce backhaul operating costs, simplify and converge their RAN and Ethernet access networks, and enhance their profit opportunities with mobile and premium Ethernet services.
